The trombone mouthpiece collection designed in collaboration with Jorge Guerra, a Venezuelan trombonist with a solid international career spanning Venezuela, Peru, and France.

After months of working with Jorge, we have developed two trombone mouthpiece models with the exact specifications that allow him to unleash his full potential in every musical context. At musicRioja, we make them available to any musician who wants to play with the same model.

CFD Technology Design

The internal geometry of these mouthpieces has been optimized through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, ensuring efficient airflow and the best playing comfort:

  • Reduced fatigue
  • Greater tuning stability
  • Better control in all registers

Collection Models

  • Solo — oriented towards concerts, recitals, and classical music. Balanced response and noble sound. Rim width: 25.40mm.
  • Popular — designed for street music, salsa, merengue, and rhythmic repertoires. Bright projection and great flexibility. Rim width: 25.50mm.

Both models are available for large bore and small bore, adapting to every style with maximum comfort and performance.

Materials and Manufacturing

Manufactured using 3D printing with high-precision thermoplastic polymer, certified safe for skin contact. The rim is completely smooth and polished, ensuring a soft, comfortable, and safe contact during prolonged use. Unlike metal mouthpieces, it reduces the risk of irritation during extended contact.

About Jorge Guerra

Born in Caracas (Venezuela), Jorge began his musical journey at age 6 at the Fundación Bigot. At 15, he joined the National System of Orchestras, where he began his trombone studies with maestro Camilo Jiménez. At just 18, he became assistant trombonist of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Venezuela.

After his time as solo trombonist in Peru, he continued his training in Europe: at the École Normale de Musique de Paris with the renowned Jacques Mauger, and obtaining his degree at the IESM in Aix-en-Provence (France). He currently pursues his career as a teacher and concert performer in France, where he has also been an associate artist of the Conservatoire de la Baie de Somme.

His international career has earned him numerous accolades: 2nd prize in the Courtois National Competition (France), 2nd prize in the Chieri International Competition (Italy), 4th prize in Innovatrombone (Spain), and 8th place worldwide in the Jeju International Competition (South Korea).

Jorge Guerra's music combines the power of Latin talent with the elegance of a classical performer. His musicRioja Signature reflects exactly that: character, passion, and versatility.

Used by musicians of all levels in over 40 countries. Made in Spain.
