musicRioja, since 2019
About Us
I am Alfonso Pascual, and in 2019, with a 3D printer, a caliper borrowed from my father, and a lot of enthusiasm, I began designing my own trumpet mouthpiece. The first test was a disaster. But something told me to keep going.
That impulse became a Mechanical Engineering Final Degree Project, then more than 120 prototypes, and finally my own methodology based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and 3D printing. The goal: for each mouthpiece to adapt to the musician.
In 2023, musicRioja was born as a company, with a clear purpose: to make music accessible for all brass instruments. Today, we are present in more than 40 countries across 5 continents, and we continue designing mouthpieces and tools one by one, for each musician and their unique way of playing.
Along the way, people appeared who changed everything: Alejandro Incera, my teacher and musical mentor, who believed in this from day one. And later, Ozzie Melendez, trombonist of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, who used our mouthpieces throughout his entire tour.
You can enjoy all the interviews with our musicians on our YouTube Channel - musicRioja

Today, musicRioja works with musicians of all levels —from students taking their first steps to soloists on international stages— and with instruments from the entire brass family: trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, horn, and cornet.
What Drives Us
True customization: each mouthpiece is born from listening to the musician, understanding their technique, and designing for them.
Technology with purpose: CFD and 3D printing at the service of sound, health, and expressiveness.
Safe and sustainable materials: certified for skin contact, biodegradable, with no concessions.
Care for the musician: less fatigue, better airflow, stronger and longer-lasting embouchures.
Global accessibility: from conservatories to major stages, in more than 40 countries.
