After months of working with Edward, we have created a trumpet collection with the exact specifications that allow him to develop his full potential. At musicRioja, we make it available to any musician who wants to play with the same model.

Design with CFD technology

The internal geometry of this mouthpiece has been optimized using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, ensuring efficient airflow and the best playing comfort:

  • Reduced fatigue
  • Greater tuning stability
  • Better control in all registers

Materials and manufacturing

Manufactured using 3D printing with high-precision thermoplastic polymer, skin-safety certified. The rim is completely smooth and polished, ensuring soft, comfortable and safe contact during prolonged use. Unlike metal mouthpieces, it reduces the risk of irritation with prolonged contact.

About Edward Plater

Edward Plater is a Venezuelan trumpeter with a solid and diverse international career. He began his journey in Afro-Venezuelan percussion at the age of 8, and at 13 he began his trumpet studies with Professor Rafael José Machado. Later, he trained at the José Ángel Lamas Superior School of Music in Caracas with Russian professor Bogdan Kalmuk, and at 17 he entered the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music.

In 2013 he was signed as an artist for Venezuela for Latin America and the world by the Austrian manufacturer Schagerl, and in 2014 he was appointed Professor of Popular Trumpet at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory and designated Principal Trumpet and Lead Trumpet of the Venezuela Big Band Jazz, a project by Maestro Pablo Gil.

He has performed with the Venezuela Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of internationally renowned conductors such as Alondra de la Parra, and has participated in festivals such as the Grande Maurice Trumpet Festival (2012) and the Schagerl All-Star Big Band with multi-instrumentalist James Morrison. He was also a founding member of the Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz and has collaborated with world-renowned musicians such as Nicolás Folmer, James Delano Dollar and Ángel Subero, among others.

His Signature musicRioja is the result of that level of demand: a mouthpiece designed to perform at its best in any context, from classical music to popular music.

Used by musicians of all levels in over 40 countries. Made in Spain.
